Density is one of the things that most concerns new prosthetic users. If we want to achieve a natural look, it is very important to get the right density right. To do this, you have to look at the density of your own hair and look for a similar system.
If your alopecia is very advanced, you have completely lost your hair in the upper area and on the sides you can see small clearings, then choose a low density.
If on the sides you still have a lot of hair and it is in the upper area where important thinning is seen, then choose a medium density. High densities are not usually recommended except in special cases, as they do not provide a natural appearance.
The Swiss and French meshes are the finest and therefore also the most fragile, admitting low and medium densities ranging from 50% to 100%, the latter being the average density of a male adolescent without alopecia and therefore the most recommended.
Microskin (also called poly or skin) and monofilament are somewhat thicker and more resistant bases, admitting medium and high densities ranging from 100% to 130%, which would be somewhat too loaded.
