Most of the doubts of customers who enter for the first time in this of hair prostheses focus on the use of glue, so we have decided to explain step by step how to correctly apply the different liquid adhesives. Pay attention because what comes next will be of great help to you.
First of all, before applying any adhesive whether liquid or tape, some previous considerations must be taken into account:
• It is very important to make sure that the area is clean, that there are no traces of previous adhesives, sweat or dirt. To do this, use solvent (C-22, Walker, Rapid Release, Ghost Buster, etc.) that removes traces of adhesive and, subsequently, washes the area with exfoliating gel and / or shampoo.
• It is advisable to use Scalp Protector, which protects the scalp and leaves the area soft and clean making the adhesives stick better and last longer.
Once we have the area ready, we proceed to apply the liquid glue. Keep in mind that mesh prostheses should never be thrown into the system but into the skin. In microskin prostheses it can be applied in the system.
• If you use a water-based liquid adhesive (Ghost Bond, HS Oil Resistant White), add a thin layer, so that there are no lumps, and let it rest until it becomes transparent (2-3min), then apply 1 or 2 more layers and repeat the wait before placing the piece.
• If you use an acrylic or silicone adhesive (Walker Ultra Hold, Davlyn), apply only a thin layer and let it dry before placing the system.
• If you use a Hard Bond sticker (Top Priority) remember that it acts in a matter of seconds. It is specially formulated for microskin systems. With mesh systems it is important that the glue does NOT touch the piece, its application must be done on the tapes to increase their grip (that is, it would be applied between the skin and the tape). It is not necessary to wait for it to dry because it sticks immediately.
